Our children’s education is, naturally, only one area we as parents consider when helping our children navigate these formative years of their lives; however, it is certainly one of the most crucial. Emma Bressington
I am thrilled to be part of your child's educational journey. With over two decades of experience as a primary school teacher and senior leader, teaching has always been more than a profession for me; it's my passion and calling.
Throughout my career, I have held various leadership roles, including Senior Leader and Head of Key Stage 2. These positions gave me significant experience in curriculum development, student assessment, and individualised instruction. In 2023, I transitioned from the classroom to focus on building Core Ambition Tutors, and I couldn't be happier. Watching children make significant progress and develop a love for learning is incredibly rewarding. Each student's growth and success are at the heart of everything I do.
As one of the founders of Core Ambition Tutors, I am dedicated to connecting families with outstanding tutors and to upholding the high standards we set. My years in the classroom mean I know exactly what great teaching looks like, and I bring that same eye to every tutor we introduce, so that each family is matched with someone who is not only expert in their subject but genuinely able to draw out a child's confidence and potential.
Having two sons, I completely understand the pressures of being a parent and wanting the best for our children. With this experience and expertise, I can help you find the right support for your child, so they can excel academically and personally and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Toby Lanyon Jones
Having graduated in journalism in 2002, I worked as a freelance reporter in Afghanistan before returning to the UK to work in regional newspapers. After three exciting years I decided to follow my parents into the world of academia and teaching. Here I have remained for the past 20 years, pursuing my own love of education: gaining a PhD from the University of Leeds and a PGCE from the University of Cambridge, teaching in international schools overseas, and tutoring hundreds of students here in the UK and abroad.
Throughout my years of teaching I have developed skills of patience, perseverance and organisation. I am as conscious of those who struggle in the classroom environment as I am of those who thrive. These skills, combined with a natural love of education, an enthusiasm for different cultures and beliefs, and an understanding of the challenges individual students face, mean I know exactly what to look for in an outstanding tutor.
As one of the founders of Core Ambition Tutors, much of my week is dedicated to running the agency and to making sure every family is matched with a tutor who can help their child achieve beyond what they thought possible. Once a teacher, always a teacher. There are few pleasures more rewarding than seeing a student develop confidence and enthusiasm, then go on to exceed their own expectations.
